Jessie's Visit July 2019

Jessie and Paul and the kids came to visit in July of 2019.  We were so excited we didn't even get pictures of their arrival!

Farmer Boy with his Farmer Grampa!

Right away everybody wanted to play (of all places) in the basement.

No supper, but we had ice cream sundaes with lots of toppings.

Then outside to hunt for bugs and frogs.

I felt so lucky to have everybody all tucked into the bunk beds.

In the morning we made banana dolphins...

...and then went off to the toy store.

Even Jessie wanted to play.

Grandma Evie came over.

Hawken had a talk with his "Special Grandma."

Grampa Louie taught everybody how to drive the go-carts.

Matix took me for a ride!  He drives FAST!!  (P.S. Notice my ugly shoes...the pranks had begun, and all our shoes were hidden!)

More drivers and LOTS more rides.

Lots of snuggles with Shadow.

And we played lots of Rummikub and Mousetrap.

The kids got ready for Fourth of July parade and fireworks.

Of course we had to go collect eggs in the chicken coop.

Lullaby helped Grampa cook them.

Then we had our feast.

One of the days Louie taught everybody how to drive the tractor and run the cultivator.  They cultivated the rows of field corn.

Here's Sully posing on the corn planter.

Then off we went to cultivate the field corn.

Here are a few videos.

John found a secropia moth that had just come out of its cocoon.

Louie had the idea that if each of the eight of us took a row, we could weed out 8 rows of corn in no time flat, and everybody was not only willing, but enthusiastic!

Finally the day came and we were on our way to the Wilderness Territories in the Wisconsin Dells!

We started out pretty tame!

From the expression on my face, you wouldn't think I was on a baby slide!

Snack time!

Playing games in the condo.

Next stop... the Wave Pool.

Bradley loved this one.

Pretty far up!

There was a ropes course that was almost too scary for me to even WATCH!  But the kids were safe, and everyone did a great job!  So high up!

Here's everybody lining up and getting their harnesses on.

Ready!!

Bradley did it too!

Sully really got the hang of it too, and went off on his own!

Lully on the rolling log!!

This one really shows how high up they were!

No hands Matix!!

The kids were all cool and calm!

Then more pool time.

Climbing through the tubes....

...and winning prizes in the arcade before heading for home.

(Check out Jessie's post too, especially the video!)

Playing on the tractor.

Lully and Grandma are MATCHING!

Campfire, roasting marshmallows, and lighting sparklers.

We took pictures of every possible combination of our group.  I sure can't decide which one is my favorite!

Mom with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren.

Four generations of women.

And back at home, Jessie needed a snuggle on my lap!  Haha!!  Sometimes your baby needs to sit on her Mommy's lap, even if she's 34!

We went to Betty Brinn Children's Museum with Kenzie and her three kids.

I tried to beat the kids' time in the running race, but NO WAY!

Morning snuggles with the early risers.

 Making themselves at home.

We took a hike down to Lake Michigan.

What an idyllic scene!

I got to wiggle Lully's loose tooth lots of times.

Louie gave blanket rides.

The kids sang Happy Birthday to me and showered me with treats....

....along with lots of cards, letters, kisses, and hugs!

My birthday dinner included Jessie's family, Mom, Shelly and the baby, and us.
