Mom (Evie) received over a hundred sympathy cards when she passed away. They came from her friends, and friends of our family. Many were handmade works of art, and all were very heartfelt. Many memorial donations were made in her honor, to our church, AAUW, UCN where Tony is minister now, and other charities. Here are the cards not referenced in the original post about her death.
Jessie and her family sent this yellow rose bush (her favorite flower), which is flourishing in our garden. This picture is from 2 years later in full bloom.
Louie did so much for Mom during her lifetime. I wanted to give him a special thank-you.
Even
after helping her with so many things with her home, car, garden,
orchard, car, and vacations, he helped me take care of her even after we
moved her into our home. He picked her up when she fell, calmed her
when she was agitated or fearful, gave her hugs and kisses, and even
helped her in the bathroom a few times in a pinch. She often asked for
him, "I think we need Louie." "Is Louie going to eat with me?" She
eventually forgot my name, but she never his. He was her prince. She
loved him so, and he loved her. She was his second Mom.
Betty even had a tree planted in Mom's honor.
Mom's Shirley group sent roses for the altar.
Lots of people gave memorial donations in her honor to Olympia Brown Church, AAUW, UC North where Tony is the minister now, and other charities.
Here are the many thoughtful emails and messages from my friends too.
Here are the various Announcements and Facebook posts.
